About
Christopher Light is an attorney with Bettis Musgrove, where he brings a deep commitment to his community, a wealth of legal experience, and a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s most important legal matters.
Born and raised in Cumming, Georgia, Christopher’s roots in Forsyth County stretch back for generations. A 2004 graduate of North Forsyth High School, Christopher was a multi-sport varsity athlete who balanced academics, athletics, and a strong sense of local pride. After high school, he followed his love for baseball to Columbus State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a focus in Public Relations in 2009.
Following graduation, Christopher explored a career in journalism, writing for a local newspaper. It was during this time, interviewing residents, telling stories, and engaging with the issues that mattered most to the people of his hometown, that he discovered a calling to serve his community on a deeper level. This revelation led him to pursue a legal career, and in 2013, he earned his Juris Doctor, graduating alongside his future law partner, Ben Musgrove.
After law school, Christopher accepted a position with the respected firm of Lipscomb, Johnson, Sleister, Dailey, & Smith, LLP in Cumming. There, he developed a strong foundation in land use and zoning law, as well as estate planning and probate. These areas of law gave Christopher valuable insight into how local governments function and how families plan for the future; insight that would prove instrumental in both his legal and civic journeys.
In 2015, at just 30 years old, Christopher was elected to the Cumming City Council, where he proudly serves Post 4 to this day. His role on the Council has deepened his dedication to the people of Forsyth County and provided him a unique perspective on the intersection of law, policy, and community needs.
In 2025, after a decade of practicing law focused largely on organizations and municipal entities, Christopher made the decision to shift his professional focus toward helping individuals and families who had been injured due to someone else’s negligence. He joined his longtime friend and former classmate Ben Musgrove, as well as longtime friend Spenser Bettis, at Bettis Musgrove, a firm committed to community, integrity, and client-first advocacy.
Christopher now channels his legal experience into serving everyday people with issues that truly matter - advocating for a client who’s been hurt through no fault of their own. He brings personal attention, strategic thinking, and a deep care for outcomes in every case he handles.
A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, Christopher is proud to raise his family in the same community that shaped him. He is married to the former Katie Castleberry, also of Cumming, Georgia. Together, they have two amazing little girls who keep them busy on the weekends at local ballfields. The Light family enjoys camping trips, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and watching the Atlanta Braves play ball.
To Christopher, being an attorney is about more than just practicing law. It’s about serving people with respect, honesty, and a sense of purpose. Whether in the courtroom, at city hall, or in his neighborhood, Christopher Light remains deeply committed to the place he’s always called home.
